Environment. To care for the environment, we have chosen to partner with the Reef HQ Aquarium Turtle Hospital. We think this is a neat fit with the range of medical supplies we have in stock such as veterinary health, dressings and even everyday medicines that have bioequivalence with the turtles. We have invested in solar power generation, LED, paperless office principles, use recycled paper, schedule and price deliveries to reduce emissions, and safety.

Emergency Fund. We maintain a discretionary fund in the program budget to cater for those whose support cannot be forecast. Examples include cyclone, flood and tsunami. Local doctors can also request a script be charged to the Emergency Fund of the Cate's Chemist Community Care Program when they believe it necessary to protect low income, at risk patients that are likely to cease taking necessary medication to save money (conditions apply). The fund budget is limited each financial year. Once it is gone, it is gone.

People & Processes. The pharmacy is supported by well-established incident reporting and WHS systems and culture. Cate's Chemist "over-report". Human resource procedures comply with relevant awards and the externally assessed Quality Care Pharmacy Program (QCPP). Developed by the Pharmacy Guild of Australia in 1997 in consultation with the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia and other industry stakeholders; since 2011, QCPP has been recognised as Australian Standard 85000:2011 - quality management system for pharmacies in Australia.
